The DD4 School Board Meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, January 21, 2025 has been postponed until January 28, 2025.

Due to the forecasted severe weather expected to impact our area, Tuesday and Wednesday will be designated as E-Learning Days for all students. This decision was made in coordination with local emergency officials to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families.

📚✨ Educator's Academy Monthly Session Recap ✨📚
Last Thursday, the Educator’s Academy gathered at the Dorchester County Career and Technology Center for their monthly session, thoughtfully organized by Mrs. Catherine Yates, Coordinator of Teacher Effectiveness. The focus of the session was to support our district's early career educators through meaningful connections, valuable insights, and wellness activities.
The evening included:
🍽️ A culinary experience prepared by Mr. Behr, Assistant Director of DCCTC, who also shared words of wisdom and gratitude for our educators.
🧘♂️ Yoga led by Mr. Todd Scholl (CEWL Leader Learner), emphasizing self-care, healing, and authenticity.
🎓 A presentation by Dr. Marcella Wine-Snyder (CEWL & The SCEA, Teaching and Learning Specialist/Consultant) with tips on health, nutrition, and overall well-being.
The event brought together educators and stakeholders for thoughtful conversations, shared experiences, and practical advice on nurturing their professional and personal growth.

Making Meals with Fruits and Vegetables - A cooking Class
Please complete the form if you are interested in attending the Making Meals with Fruits and Vegetables workshop that will be facilitated by the Lowcountry Food Bank. The workshop will be on Thursday, January 16th at Woodland Middle School from 6:00-7:00 in the evening.
The workshop is for Dorchester School District Four parents and staff. In an effort to eliminate distractions and keep the class moving, children are not allowed in the class. There will be supervision for your child in another room at WMS, if needed.
Please RSVP by Monday, January 13th. This workshop is only limited to 20 participants. All participants will receive a $5.00 gift card from the Lowcountry Food Bank to use at Wal Mart.

Congratulations class of 2025! You’re invited to apply to the Volvo Accelerator program.
As you start thinking about life after high school, we’re excited to share what a career at Volvo Cars could look like by inviting you to apply to the Volvo Accelerator Program.
The Volvo Accelerator Program invites high school students to explore career opportunities at Volvo Cars. The six-month program includes four Saturday training sessions and a pre-hire interview. Students will meet once a month from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, gaining hands-on experience by touring the plant, meeting the team, and learning how cars are made. Upon successful completion, students who attend all sessions, actively participate, and pass the pre-hire interview will be eligible for a full-time position at Volvo Cars' Ridgeville plant.

Due to changes in the forecasted weather in our area, we have made adjustments to today's dismissal schedule to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Elementary Schools will dismiss early at 12:30 PM.
The Middle School and The High School will dismiss at 1:30 PM.
All District Offices will close at 2:30 PM.
All after school activities are canceled for today, including athletic events, practices, and extracurricular programs.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We encourage families to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate these changes and to stay updated through our official communication channels.
