A few weeks ago, students at Woodland High School had the opportunity to participate in the SC Skillionaire's "Crown Your Calling" Career Challenge, thanks to an email and recommendation from Mrs. Andreana Allen. This statewide initiative is a collaboration between South Carolina ETV (SCETV) and Skillionaire Games, providing free career simulation games to help students explore career pathways and local job opportunities across South Carolina.

Kierra and her familyAs part of Woodland’s transition activities, the challenge was incorporated to allow students to “try on” different careers through interactive games, learn about in-demand industries, and connect their interests to real-world employers. Students could win weekly prizes, and those who completed five levels in a single game were automatically entered into the Grand Prize drawing.

We’re proud to announce that Kierra Robinson, one of our standout students, was named one of only four major statewide winners! Kierra was honored during the Crown Your Calling Awards Ceremony on June 2nd at SCETV headquarters in Columbia, SC, where she was officially crowned a South Carolina Skillionaire by Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, alongside state industry leaders, SCETV executives, and the creators of Skillionaire Games.

Kierra receiving her awardOut of more than 2,000 students across South Carolina who participated in the challenge, Kierra earned her award for excelling in the Rad Lab game. As part of her prize, she received a VIP tour of SHL Medical, organized in partnership with SCbio, the state’s life sciences industry association. During her visit, she met with Mr. Mark Anderson and Mr. Hamed Al Raisi from SHL Medical and Mrs. Erin Ford from SCbio, who offered personalized advice and insight to help Kierra pursue her career aspirations.

Mrs. Sarb guided Kierra during the challenge and generously provided photos from the award ceremony, helping the Woodland community celebrate this achievement.

This honor is a shining example of the bright futures our students are building. We’re incredibly proud of Kierra and grateful for the educators and partners who helped make this opportunity possible.

Congratulations, Kierra—and thank you, Mrs. Sarb, for helping to crown a future leader!
