On the afternoon of Thursday, April 30, Woodland Middle School transformed its gymnasium into a celebration of student creativity and expression during a combined Band Concert and Art Display. The entire student body, along with teachers and staff, gathered for the inspiring event, which highlighted the hard work and talent of students in both music and the visual arts.

The concert began with a performance from the beginner band, directed by Mr. Matthew Dickler, who led students through a series of musical selections they had worked on throughout the year. The combined 7th and 8th grade band, conducted by Mrs. Yolanda Bennett, followed with several more polished performances that demonstrated both skill and enthusiasm.

Adding a special touch to the program, students courageously stepped forward to the microphone to welcome the audience and introduce each selection, showing poise and public speaking confidence beyond their years.

While the music played, smart boards positioned in the center of the gym displayed a rotating gallery of student artwork. The visual display created a powerful atmosphere, blending sound and sight to showcase the wide range of artistic talents at Woodland Middle School.

The event was a proud moment for the WMS community, reminding everyone of the importance of arts in education and the value of giving students a platform to share their gifts.
