Sydney Carreria

Dorchester School District Four is proud to announce that Ms. Sydney Carreira of Woodland High School has been selected as one of its April 2025 Everyday Hero recipients.

A first-year teacher and proud DD4 alumna, Ms. Carreira was nominated by Principal Michael White for stepping up when it mattered most. “This year, we unexpectedly found ourselves short of an Algebra 1 teacher,” White shared. “The weekend before the scholars returned, I asked Ms. Carreira to fill in. In addition to saying yes, she has done a fantastic job.”

Since accepting the challenge, Ms. Carreira has worked closely with Coach Jeffries to support students and help achieve record-breaking increases in Algebra 1 productivity on the End-of-Course exam. Her commitment to excellence and student success has made a lasting impression.

“Ms. Carreira is also a wonderful person who is a pleasure to work with,” White added. “She embodies the essence of a Wolverine.”

She will be officially recognized on April 23, 2025, and will receive a certificate of appreciation and the Superintendent’s Coin, symbols of the district’s gratitude for her outstanding service.

Dorchester School District Four congratulates Ms. Sydney Carreira and looks forward to honoring her continued impact on the students of Woodland High School.
