Students running for the ball in the first CHES basketball game

Building on the success of DD4 Youth Soccer, the inaugural season of DD4 Youth Basketball officially tipped off on Thursday, April 3rd and it is already shaping up to be something special. Elementary schools across the district have formed their own teams, and students are practicing and competing for the chance to represent their school in the semi-finals on April 28th at Woodland High School. The championship game will follow on April 30th.

We had the chance to visit Clay Hill Elementary for the first match of the season, and the energy was incredible. The gym was full of excited students cheering on every basket, and the players were clearly having the time of their lives. From the first tipoff to the final whistle, the support and school spirit were nonstop.

There is something truly inspiring about seeing young students come together through sports. DD4 Youth Basketball is helping them build confidence, teamwork, and pride in their schools. It is more than a game. It is a new tradition that is already bringing joy and connection to our district.

With the season underway, we are looking forward to all the great moments ahead. The road to the finals has begun and we cannot wait to see these young athletes shine.
