Dorchester School District Four

Jay'Vonne Mayfield is a student in Dorchester District 4, where he has lived for most of his life. Growing up in the St. George area, Jay'Vonne has been actively involved in his community, attending Williams Memorial Elementary School, the Odyssey Educational Center, and Woodland High School. Throughout his time in DD4, he has been passionate about advocating for positive changes in both schools and the community. He took the initiative to start programs and petitions aimed at maintaining the presence of the former School Resource Officer at the new middle school, demonstrating his commitment to student voices and well-being.

In addition to his advocacy work, Jay'Vonne is a proud member of the Woodland High School football team and serves as a student aid for Woodland athletics. These experiences have enriched his understanding of teamwork and leadership while strengthening his dedication to his peers and community. Jay'Vonne is excited to join the Campus Creator Program for Dorchester School District 4, viewing it as a unique opportunity to enhance his skills in grammar and journalism while contributing positively to the district. He looks forward to making a meaningful impact through his writing and advocacy efforts.

Bailee Johnson, a senior at Woodland High School, is an active member of Upward Bound, Beta Club, Interact Club, National Honors Society, and HYPEE. After graduating, she plans to attend the College of Charleston, majoring in biology, with the goal of eventually attending MUSC for medical school to become a dermatologist. Bailee loves spending time with her family and friends and is excited to contribute to the Content Creator Program's growth.

Shayla Johnson is a 9th grade student who is passionate about being actively involved in school activities. She enjoys playing music, including piano and trombone, as well as gaming and taking photos on her phone. Shayla also values supporting her school by attending and participating in events whenever she can.

Lahna Willis is an 8th grader at Woodland Middle School, soon to be a freshman at Woodland High School. She enjoys playing volleyball and has a passion for photography. She loves spending time with friends and being an inspiration to the people around her. Lahna is very focused on her future career. She's responsible, trustworthy, and a great listener for those who just need someone to be there. Photography has been an important part of her life, and she hopes to continue it as a career as the future approaches. She believes that by taking pictures, she's not only doing a job but also creating a memory tracker to look back on all the beautiful things she's experienced, reminding herself and others that it's important to be thankful for the privileges and freedoms we have.

Coach Sara Jayne McClellan is a social studies teacher at Woodland High School with over 13 years of experience. She teaches a variety of our elective courses from social sciences to law and debate. She enjoys spending time with her family (2 of which are fellow Wolverines) including their 5 dogs and 3 cats! Reading, watching true crime, and going to the beach are just a few of her favorite things to do in her spare time. However, most of the time you can find her at Woodland coaching a sport or showing up to support her scholars. She also sponsors the NHS and our Junior/Senior Board. When asked about Woodland she said, "I have never felt more at home and supported than I do here. Our scholars truly are a cut above the rest. I absolutely LOVE being a Wolverine and am excited about the journey we are on, to show the rest of the world just how amazing we are!"
