🍰❤️ Sweet Appreciation & CTE in Action! ❤️🍰 On Valentine’s Day, Woodland High School’s FCCLA, led by Mrs. Lewis, showcased the spirit of Career & Technical Education (CTE) by delivering delicious cupcakes to teachers and staff! 🧁✨ FCCLA, part of our Family and Consumer Sciences CTE program, teaches students valuable skills in hospitality, leadership, and community service—and what better way to put those skills into action than by spreading kindness and appreciation! 💕 This thoughtful gesture was a sweet reminder of how much our educators and staff mean to the Woodland community. Thank you, FCCLA, for making the day a little brighter (and tastier) while highlighting the importance of CTE programs! 👏✨ #WHSFCCLA #CTEMonth #SweetSurprise #ValentinesDay #WolverinePride 🍎🎉

🐷🌾 CTE Spotlight: Agricultural Science & Technology! 🚜✨ At Woodland High School, Ms. Leonard’s Agricultural Science & Technology CP class is getting real hands-on experience in farming and animal care! Last week, students worked on Woodland’s very own pig stall—because yes, Woodland has a pig! They actually have FOUR PIGS! 🐖🏡 This week, they celebrated National FFA Week with the Ag Olympics, featuring fun competitions like "A Day in the Life of a Farmer" (a farmer relay) and "Cowboy vs. the Cows", a tag-style game simulating runaway cattle. It’s a joyful competition to boost morale in the FFA, where students can have fun with one another with joyful competition🏆🐄🤠 DD4’s CTE programs are all about real-world learning and preparing students for careers in agriculture, agribusiness, and environmental science. 🌎👏

Each month, Ms. Deb’s PIP class explores a new unit from the Pre-K Launch Curriculum by TEACHTOWN. This month, the students are learning about Community Helpers—the jobs they do, the tools they use, and how they serve the community. To make learning meaningful, the class engages in hands-on, play-based activities that bring the lessons to life. Interactive experiences, such as dressing up and role-playing, make learning both fun and relevant for young learners. On Wednesday, February 13, Ms. Deb’s students brought their lessons to life by dressing as community helpers featured in The Food Drive, the book they are currently reading. They also took an "in-school field trip," visiting various staff members to share what they’ve learned about different community roles. Ms. Deb, her assistants, and the students love these engaging activities that make learning an exciting adventure! Article by Principal Ruth Mims Photos provided by Mrs. Tracy DeLee
