Bio

I was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In 1980, I graduated with a B.A. in Elementary Ecucation from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and, since, have become certified to teach middle school math.  After graduation, I moved to South Carolina, where my family used to vacation, as teachers were being laid off in the north.  I took a job with Colleton County Schools.  After two years in the Lowcountry, I married my husband. I have one stepson, a daughter, a son, and four grandchildren through my stepson.

I have taught in Colleton County for 35 years, mostly with 5th and 6th grades, and usually with an emphasis on math.  I have had the joy to teach alongside many of my former students who have become teachers, as well.  I am retired, but continue to teach, as I love my profession and working with children.  Dorchester District 4 and St. George Middle School have embraced me with their friendly and helpful natures.  I am so happy and blessed to be here!

If I can be of any help to parents or staff members, feel free to contact me at 1-843-599-9236.  Thank you.
