Bio

I grew up in the town of Simpsonville in Upstate South Carolina. After graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1995, I attended the College of Charleston where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1999. Following graduation, I began teaching in Dorchester School District 4. While a teacher in the DD4 school district, I have taught second and third grades, as well as sixth grade math.  In 2009, while at Harleyville-Ridgeville Elementary, I was selected as Teacher of the Year and was also selected as the Air Force Association’s South Carolina Teacher of the Year in 2010.  In May 2011, I completed my Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. This degree enabled me to obtain my current position as School Librarian at St. George Middle School. In 2013, I was chosen as SGMS Teacher of the Year. It was an incredible honor to receive this title a second time in my career, but even more of an honor to receive it as a Librarian! This is my 14th year as the School Librarian at St. George Middle School.

My LOVES include (but are not limited to):

  • My family
  • My mini aussiedoodle, Dazi
